Looking forward to Larkmead – dates for your diary
New Year 7 Welcome Evening on Tuesday 7th May 2024, with two sessions at 6.00pm & 7.00pm.
You will hear from Mr Dennett (Headteacher) and Ms Watkins (Key Stage 3 Coordinator), meet some new friends and discover more about Larkmead. This event is for students, parents and carers.
Primary school visits during May 2024
Moving to your new secondary school is exciting, and you will have lots of questions. Meeting you in your primary school helps us to get to know you and make sure you are feeling confident about all that life at Larkmead has to offer.
Extra induction morning on Thursday 20th June 2024
Some of you will be invited to an extra, special induction morning. We discuss this with primary schools, and we will send an invitation to your parents if we think you will benefit from this.
Induction Evening is on Tuesday 25th June, with two sessions at 6pm & 7pm
This will be in the Main Hall. You will meet the other students in your tutor group. Mr Dennett will speak to you and your parents/carers and you will be able to meet other key staff, including our SENCo and staff from Student Services.

You’ll discover more about Larkmead so that you are confident and really looking forward to joining us in September.
4th September 2024: Start of Term 1
You will start and end your first day with your tutor and start to settle in with just you and the Sixth Form in school that day.

Larkmead is an inclusive school which attracts students with a range of special needs. To address the demands made on SEND provision at Larkmead we use Provision Mapping. This allows for a range of group and individual interventions to be put in place which to appropriately and effectively meet student needs.
Support for students with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) will be prioritised through the provision mapping system. Group interventions are targeted towards those with similar needs whilst recognising that some students will need more support than others.
